Chairman - Dr. Fred Ezeugo Offodile
Dr. Fred Ezeugo Offodile is a co-founder and Chairman of De-canon Investment Limited. He brings thirtythree years broad wealth of experience to his current position.
He was a brilliant and amiable retired military officer and presently a Computer Consultant that has worked in Europe, United States of America
and Nigeria.
He was born on 25th September 1945, a graduate of Merchant of Light, Oba in Idemili Local Government Area of Anambra State. He attended the Aerospace Security System Officers Course at Lackland Airforce Base, United States in 1965 and The Nigerian Military College, Kaduna: thereafter was commissioned as a Pilot Officer in the Nigerian Airforce in 1966 from where he was sent on an intelligence course at Lowry Airforce Base, Colorado, United States of America in 1967. He retired from the Nigerian Airforce as a full lieutenant immediately after the Nigerian-Biafra civil war that ended in January 12th1970.
Thereafter, he went on to study Computer Science at University of Houston, Texas,
United States of America and later obtained a doctorate degree in philosophy of Mathematical Science (Ph.D Mathematical Science). Dr. Offodile participated in the design and implementation of an inventory
Contract System on UNIVAC 1108 Computer. He worked as a Performance Evaluation/Capacity Planning Analyst at Philips Petroleum Oil Company, London between 1979 and 1981.
On return to Nigeria, he became involved in monitoring and management of mini-computer installation at Raleigh – Industries, Kano. He later became a contract consultant with the Shell Development Company Limited, Marina Lagos. Dr. Fred Offodile thereafter joined the firm of Peat Marwick as chief Consultant/Project Manager to the development of Staff Provident Fund system, a micro-based commercial/merchant banking system for Eko International Bank Plc, Lagos, United Bank for Africa Plc, Highland Bank Plc Yola, KPMG and many other banks and companies. Dr. Offodile has had quite a number of publications on Computer Science related topics and is currently a partner with KPMG Group, Lagos. He is happily married with five children.
